Sibling Love

Tommy and I didn't know if we'd ever be able to have a baby. Then our first little miracle came along and stole our hearts. We haven't been the same since. As soon as possible, we tried again to have another baby. After two and a half years, we called in the "big guns" one more time, and had miracle number two. We just wanted so badly for Addie to have a sibling, and it happened.

I worried for nine straight months about how she'd do with him. After all, she had been our world for three years. Well, holy cow, there was nothing I needed to worry about. She loves this little boy more than anything in this world. She has to know where he is and what he's doing and who he's with at all times. She knows everything about him - will even say, "ugh, reflux," when he gets fussy and spitty. She knows how to get that passy in (without touching the nipple), talks softly and sweetly to him, sings to him, shows him toys, turns the vibrator on his bouncey seat, gets the swing moving, and so on. She adores him.

And now that he's smiling, and she's learned to stand back a little so he can see her, she is starting to be one of his favorite things!

Sure, we get "The Big J" (jealousy) a good bit, especially when Mommy is feeding him, but for the most part, they are absolutely in love with each other. And our hearts are even more full than we thought possible.
