Andrew's Baptism - July 3, 2011

Thomas Andrew Sweatman, Jr. was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC on July 3, 2011. It was such a special day, as are all baptisms! We baptized him at exactly two months, the same age Addie was baptized. What makes it even more special is that the same pastor that baptized Addie and Drew, also married Tommy and me nine years ago. We absolutely adore Pastor Rawl and are so thankful for him and St. Peter's! Our friend, Mr. James, took pictures for us.

St. Peter's signs up for altar flowers a year in advance, when, of course, we had no idea when Drew would be baptized. So, I just had an arrangement of some of my favorite flowers, hydrangeas (same flowers as in my wedding!), sent to the church for him.

As we were taking pictures, Mr. James asked me if there were any more pictures that I wanted. Addie pipes up and asks him if he'd take a picture of just her and Uncle Paul. Man, she loves him!
Mary Hawkins, my Godmother Marsha, and us.
The Sweatman side
Drew with Pop Pop and Gammie
Drew with MawMaw and Granddaddy
All of us with Heather, Steven, and Anna Kate (who was only a week old!). We were so thankful to have Heather stand up with us to sponsor Drew just like she did Addie!
Heather and Drew - thank you Heather! I know you didn't feel well!
All of us with Pastor Rawl
The Sanders side - some of them!
All of us with my parents, Mimi and Googa
All of us, Mimi, Googa, and Paul and Sue
Drew with Mimi and Googa. My mom made Drew's gorgeous gown, just like she did Addie's. They are both beautiful works of art. I plan to get them both shadowboxed.
Drew with Uncle Paul and Aunt Sue
Drew with my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Al (my dad's sister).
And all of us with Maw Maw and Granddaddy. Addie Kate was acting up so we re-took this picture later!
My dad and his sister
And some more Uncle Paul and Addie Kate pictures.
We had a quick breakfast, then went to Shiloh for Benjamin's baptism. Alice and I were so happy to have both of our precious sons baptized on the same day (since they were supposed to be born on the same day!). Alice and I were baptized on the same day over 30 years ago at the church where our parents were married!
After his baptism, we had friends and family for lunch in their fellowship hall.
Alice and me with our little bundles. What precious blessings for us both!
Our first little bundles, Addie Kate, 3.5, Sanders, 3.
A pretty rough picture, but the only one of us with Drew.
My little girl! Mom made her beautiful dress. I love it!
Drew stayed either happy or asleep!
This is the first time I've let Addie Kate hold Drew without pillows or support! She did pretty good, when she quit kissing him! She loves that little boy!

All of us again!

The two angels.
Then Drew again, sacked out!

Then in the kitchen we found these clowns! David above, and Paul and Michael below!

Drew sleeping again - but you can see some of the beautiful detailing of his gown. There was a cross between the tiny pin tucks on the bodice, then insertion of crosses across the bottom of the gown, with the beautiful cut-work (non)lace (because his daddy would have died if there was lace on there!) on the sleeves and bottom. It is so completely different from Addie's, and still just as beautiful! Thank you Mom!

And it wouldn't be a family gathering without the food!

A friend of my mom's made the cake. She's still learning, but man did it taste good!
