As I'm uploading these pictures, I realize that we did so much more. And it's all captured on our big camera. those events are not daily, so I'll go back and give each one a post of their own. These are fuzzy, yuck iPhone pictures, but I'm thankful to have them. Probably more so than the "good camera" pics.
August was fun. I tend to get a little depressed each August as the end of summer draws near, but we still had fun, and that's all that matters.
We went to see Googa at one of the Legion games. Both of my kids love the ballfield. Why am I not surprised?
Addie Kate mostly enjoyed the $3 bag of microwaved popcorn. Yuck.
Addie Kate would sleep with me when Tommy traveled. She was super fun to share a bed with.
Margaret would come over a lot. It was wonderful - I could chill out for a bit!
On this evening in particular we enjoyed putting AK's panties on Drew's head. He hated it but kept coming back for me. Ahhh, the fun Lexington has to offer!
Addie Kate never eats the ice cream that Tommy and I buy ourselves. We just never offer it to her and she never asks. We have pretty strict food regulations in our house. However, this was Mimi's house. Clearly she liked the ice cream she had that night. I couldn't believe it when I saw her doing that!
Laurie gave Drew this jon jon at a baby shower, and it was one of my favorites on him. It's absolutely precious. I miss it!
I kept the kids entertained one afternoon in what turned out to be about an hour long car wash. AK took pictures and Drew did the piggy.
One sweet, brief moment where my two played together so happily. (AK wearing one of my old dresses! She loved it because it was purple!)
One evening the kids were so quiet. I walked in to check on them and they'd both fallen asleep in this position. Hilarious. And sweet.
I love my sleeping kids. Drew is a wild man in his sleep too.
And apparently AK prefers to sleep in the nude, in the car. (Totally kidding - she was wearing a dress that tied for the straps, and they'd come untied and fallen down.)
Many Sunday afternoons were spent on the lake. This was both kids first time swimming in the lake. Yuck!
I cannot believe I'm putting this picture of me up here. Drew with that hat on is so cute that I just had to!
Family time. I think we had lasagna this night at Gammie's, which is why both babies were in their nakies.
Drew's curls. I miss those too.
Impromptu golf cart ride on the causeway with Margaret and D.
More sleeping baby.
Addie Kate went bowling for the first time, with her cousin Sanders! They had fun, once we got over Addie Kate's tantrum about the ugly shoes. I had a hard time fussing at her. Who does like them?
And lunch after, where I'm pretty sure if it'd been any nicer than Panera, we would have gotten kicked out.
Addie Kate random dance party.
And Drew's first Oreo.
Addie Kate and I had a few girl's days. Love those.
More lake - we had five sleeping babies at the same time on this trip!
Sleeping baby again...
Addie Kate did a little art for my classroom for me. Drew's handprints were also on there, but I cannot take a picture while doing that!
More family time.
More art for AK. She could color, paint, and craft all day long.
My mom made AK this cute dress, and she had a temper tantrum about how it felt. She got sent to her room and fell alseep mid-tantrum. Serves her right for acting that way!
Sleeping sweetness.
Sanders came over to fish and they chased the bubbles in the dark. They just squealed and ran and laughed. It was priceless.
We took Addie Kate bowling a second time, this time with Daddy. For some reason she thought it was a stage and not a bowling alley.
Drew ate the whole time. (Notice my summer reading?)
I brought Drew home this stuffed dog from my classroom, since that was his first animal word and he said it SO much. He loved it, for about 5 minutes.
We celebrated granddaddy's birthday:
No idea why this picture is in there, but it's cute nonetheless.
Addie Kate went tubing for the first time with her friend Hannah. I cannot believe she did it, and I'm sad that I wasn't on the tube with her for her first time1
I tried, but didn't get out the big camera, to take a picture of Drew in this cute outfit one day after church. No luck.
Addie Kate started 4K at her new preschool. Sweet thing. She got to have a Disney Princess backpack this year, because hers was in storage. She was so happy!
The kids missed each other. They still get so excited to see each other every afternoon. Makes my heart happy.
Can't leave out one of these:
I wish I could play outside naked!
Random trip to Shealy's. Drew loved the corn on the cob.
No words.
He would beg to go outside. Still does.
Another of the ice cream bowl:
Addie Kate would sit on this tractor and push Drew across the deck. He loved it. And so did I. Precious things!
