October finished up with lots of fun. A certain little girl turned the big FIVE. Five years old. Five years with us. I know Tommy would agree when I say that our world has been rocked and it's been the best five years of our life!
Since we had so much fun at Disney World, especially at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, that's what I wanted to recreate for her for her fifth birthday. I had grand plans to do it at home, pulling out all the stops, having people there to do makeup and nails... but we still hadn't bought a house, although we had finally found one, so we did it at the local children's salon, and the girls loved it. It was packed with girls, more so than I think they usually have in a party, but it was fun nonetheless. Below are a few iphone pics, but I'll have to come back in more detail with our real pictures from the good camera.
Addie Kate was ecstatic to get this Rapunzel doll. I love that she still has such a young, sweet, innocent little heart.
She woke up to birthday pancakes. Who doesn't love blowing out a candle?
Then Mommy and Daddy went to her school to take her cupcakes. It was another little boy's birthday too! Those poor teachers!
That night we met family at Flight Deck for dinner and presents. We had some time to kill so we let the kids play at Chick Fil A before that. It was the first time Drew had ever played in the play area.
Next up was Halloween. We had a lot of fun Halloween activities to do. Addie Kate decided to be Dorothy (even though she'd never seen the Wizard of Oz), so Drew was the lion!
We went to Boo at the Zoo, and although it's not the case with most things, it's definitely better in Columbia than Greenville. I always hated Greenville's Boo at the Zoo.
We ran into some friends from church.
Then met up with Heather's crew!
Some typical Drew silliness - he climbed up on the table to get a tomato.
Addie Kate and I went to St. Peter's for their Fall Festival. Tommy stayed home with Drew and brought him later for dinner and Trunk or Treat.

They had a cupcake bar, which is one of AK's favorite things!
I tried everything in my power to get a good picture of my two, because they really were adorable, and this was the best I got. Geez.
Drew could not have been cuter when he kept his hat/mane ON, which wasn't often enough.
We knew it was time for Drew to start feeding himself. What a nasty, messy project that was. I'm sure my mom wished we had waited until we moved out of her house! Sometimes he just gave up and held the utensil, eating with his fingers. Yuck!

Addie Kate had a costume parade on Halloween day at school:

We went to Heather and Steven's that night. Trick or treating is always more fun with friends. They had gotten their parent's Gator-type thing and we rode around the neighborhood in that. It was perfect.
Aunt Mel always comes along to help manage the chaos.

Heather and I and the babies bowed out early, and left Tommy and Steven with the big kids. They were wiped out.
They slept well that night...
