Daily March 2013

 The iPhone is good for snapping quick, daily pictures of our life, and I love it for that reason. The quality, for the most part, stinks, and no one else may be interested in our daily life, but I know when I look back, I'll be over the moon that I tried my best to document every moment. 

March was a fun month. Since it was a mild winter, March was quite warm. We enjoyed our new yard, making it our home, and being outside. We enjoyed Easter and loved Spring Break.

 Oh I wish he'd nap like this every day. My last baby.

 And sister, who chooses to fight naps every now and then.... ends up like this at 5:00 at night!

 Drew developed an attachment to Elmo. Short lived and sweet.

 Again, my sleeping baby. I love the behind up in the air and his sweet lips.

 This is pretty much how we roll. And AK... I give up the wardrobe fight for play clothes.

 I was only going to post the below picture, of sibling sweetness, but I thought that I must post the top one as well. For their memory as well as my own!

 We picked back up our routine FroYo trips...

 Which clearly Addie Kate had been missing!

 Addie Kate made her first PB&J on her own. And bless her was she ever proud!

 What everyone says about little boys is true - they are mama's boys.

 I was decorating our laundry room with the children's artwork. Addie Kate has always been so talented artistically, and her preschools have done some great art. So her work was everywhere. Drew had one thing. I fixed that by letting him paint a few papers for me. And he loved it!

 We had to kill time one day before going to gymnastics.... so naturally we went to Krispy Kreme. At least one of us (AK) burned off the calories! The kids loved it. I guess it'd been a while since they'd been? I try to stay away from there!

 

 As Easter drew closer, we tried to do a few Easter-centered activities. Made bunny cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Drew just wanted to eat them, not pose with them - ha!

 And Resurrection Rolls... which didn't go quite as planned. We'll try again next year.

Olivia came down from Greenville to enjoy the zoo while it was nice out. Not too hot or cold. Meredith found an earthworm on the ground and we were both surprised that Olivia (the tomboy) wouldn't hold it, but Addie Kate (the girly girl) had no problem!

 Drew crawled to the backseat while we were getting the girls situated - he was in heaven thinking he could sit back there between them! I took this picture before wrestling him, kicking and screaming, out of there and into his seat.

 Drew was terrified of being on the horse on the carousel alone. I climbed up there with him, per usual.

 I tried to get a few pics of my kids, looking cute and matching in their Easter duds. These were the best three. Again, I should use my real camera!

 I'm definitely not a selfie person, but I love this picture of my boy and me.

 Addie Kate spent the night with Aunt Ellen, and Drew loved having the attention all to himself!

 For Christmas I gave Tommy a flight lesson. Of course I went with him. I took my meds, everything... but I could not get off that plane fast enough. Tommy did great, but my motion sickness does not like small planes. As soon as he got on the ground, I jumped out - not even letting him pull it to the parking place. UGH! Although, I have to say, I loved Tommy's happiness and loved being there with him!

 So thankful for all of our many blessings!

Day to Day February 2013

As I look back at my February picture files, I realize it was quite the low key month! 

A day of - "I don't need to take a nap, Mommy," which always has my answer as, "You can have quiet time in your room." Which led to this. Sweet thing. Mommies know. She'll learn one day!

 My two at our church's Shrove Tuesday (the start of Mardi Gras/Lent) supper.

 Valentine's Day breakfast - doughnuts. This is QUITE a treat for my kids!

 Drew, as determined as any second child, learned to put on his own clothes, or at least learned to get some clothes on his body. Here, he has a pajama top on his legs. Bless him. I love it.

 My baby after church one Sunday -

 I had to document the outfit, as Daddy was already starting on, "He's too old for this." Sigh.

 And my girl, with her hair a hot mess, I loved this dress on her. So classic.

 Nothing in this world like a sleeping baby.

 And Mimi made Addie Kate another dress! I'm so glad she loves them as much as I do!

It was trunk show season, so I made Addie Kate try clothes on. She loves it (sarcasm here) - I bribe her with one M&M per outfit. Bless her. That is a treat for her. Drew would want the entire bag.

 When she was little, pink overalls were absolutely adorable on her. Of course she wouldn't let me put her in them once she turned about three. These were entirely too little, but I just had to have one more picture.

 And this was my dress. My cousins and I all had one, and we all had a picture taken together in them.  (Which back in the 80's was a huge deal!)

 I did get one outfit on Drew. I'll miss these I know. 

Tommy was out of town, and as we were getting ready for school one morning, we heard the loudest BOOM we have ever heard. He had just installed shelving in the garage, so I thought that was what it was. Addie Kate said, "I hope it didn't fall on the car!" That thought hadn't even crossed my mind! I was afraid to open the door, and when I did, I saw nothing. When I opened the garage door, I saw this. I had to move it myself just enough to back out of the garage. My sweet daddy came over and cut it into moveable sized pieces later that day. Geez! I'm glad it didn't fall on the house!!!

We went to Greenville for William's birthday. It was at Pump It Up - where I think we have been to and had probably 10 birthdays and the kids never tire of it!

 I love how my two, in a crowd (especially Drew), stick together and hold hands. Addie Kate is a great protector, and Drew really looks up to her and relies on her for strength and protection. I love it.

When we bought this house, it had an amazing tree house. Super tall so our kids don't get to use it without us there. When they people moved out, they took the slide with them (and now we know why - a slide this tall is over $400.). It also didn't have a swing set on it, which is our two's favorite thing. So Tommy built one on it and the kids were over the MOON when it was finished! (As you can see - outside playing in the dark - they just couldn't wait!) 

We eat at Shealy's so much... this time deserved a picture apparently. 

 

I thought AK's poncho was cute... And I love Drew in this sweet little jacket. It has pom poms on the hood! 

 A trip somewhere.... and Drew HATES riding in the car. This trip he learned, and taught us, that he is determined enough to get out of his shoulder straps. Great. Always nice to see when you're driving 70+ miles per hour down the interstate.

 And Addie Kate.... I don't think a booster is near as comfy to sleep in as a car seat.

 Addie Kate wrote all of her own Valentine's this year, without my help. Bless her, she is growing so much. And I am beyond proud.

 I love to walk in and see my kids sleeping in the most awkward positions.

We had Audrey's birthday party. Valeri did such a cute job! It was a cooking party so Addie Kate was in heaven! (Although she hated her shoes and had a huge hissy fit in their front yard over them. For. The. Love.)

 Drew loves wearing hats, so he kept his chef hat on almost the whole time. And I wish these pictures showed just how cute that hat was on him. (Maybe I should use my real camera?)

Again, clinging to each other in a crowd. I dearly love it. It's everything I have ever prayed for!

And that was February - a pretty low key month. One of the best kinds!
