We had a great time at St. Peter's Egg Hunt, as usual! We look forward to it every year.
I had my parents come with us this year, because I knew Tommy and I couldn't help both kids and take pictures.
Addie Kate enjoyed the pre-hunt activities.
Mr. James was setting up shop for Easter pictures on Easter Sunday. My crew was happy to help him get his camera up and rolling!
Drew's group was first. Addie Kate was happy to help brother get three eggs, and Drew enjoyed playing with them.
As we were out there hunting for Drew, my mom came running out saying that Addie Kate's group had started. (We were told that they would not start while Drew's hunt was going on.) We ran around to the back of the church, where poor Addie Kate found one egg. It was pretty much over by the time we got there. I felt awful, terrible for her. Drew wouldn't have known the difference, but Addie Kate had looked forward to it. Luckily, thankfully, my girl handled it well, and I was quite proud of her. And, thankfully, she received the "Hard Luck" prize as well.
It's okay precious girl. Ahhh, dealing with the heartbreak of your children has got to be the hardest thing ever, especially when it's something that could be avoided. Something so tiny just hurts them so bad.
Then came the Easter Bunny!
Both of my babes enjoyed him this year! We have crossed a bridge with that one! Thanks DisneyWorld!
Lance (above) wasn't as much of a fan, but brother Logan (below) didn't mind one bit!
The winners were called up on stage:
Addie Kate is standing next to another Addy. Bless her. As old an "uncommon" as that name was, it all of a sudden hit popularity status when we had our girl. Thankfully, in true Southern fashion, Mommy tacked "Kate" on the end to combat that!
Rubbing that ear - nervous and tired. I love it!
Addie Kate with her prize - a big bottle of bubbles and $5 to the Christian Chicken!
Ice Cream Sundaes (at 11AM) was the snack. The prize and sugar made everything better. AK had forgotten she had only gotten one egg! Whew!
My cousin Alice, with Benjamin, who is one week younger than Drew.
Yep, only one week in age difference.
And the whole time I was there, I was thinking, it sure was nice to have this sweet thing on my hip. What a precious Easter gift!
