Little Pigtails

When my mom was in town, she wanted to see if Addie's hair was long enough to do little pigtails. I told her no because I had tried myself not that long ago, but my mom actually got them in! I think they are ADORABLE!!! AK has worn them several times and I just love them!

Excuse the look in my child's faces in these pictures - she was not happy about sitting still!

Amelia's Baptism

Amelia, our goddaughter, was baptized the same weekend as Aiden's birthday. It was a whirlwind and we didn't have much time for visiting, but it was a great weekend.

Sadly, even though Tommy and I took a ton of pictures on that day, I didn't have hardly any that were really good!

At the end of the service Tommy went to get Aiden and Addie from the nursery. By the looks of the picture below, it was probably a good idea that we sent them there instead of trying to keep them in the service with us!

This is the best picture I have of sweet Amelia on that day! I'm sure her Mommy and Daddy will be getting some much better pictures made in her christening gown! Notice the bib - when we get to Elliott and Laurie's, Laurie told me she didn't have a nice, white, church bib for the baptism. Amelia is a drooler and a spitter-upper just like her big brother and Addie Kate, and she HAD to have a bib. Elliott thought it would be just fine to put her in a hot pink number like a regular day! I wouldn't have it and told them we'd be back, that we just needed to run into town for a minute. Tommy didn't trust me - knowing full well I'd be going to Pink Croc and finding Addie something that she needed! So, he and Elliott went, and Dena didn't fail us at all! She recognized the two, out of place men, and sent Laurie and I a note saying that she missed us! I bet she did! She only sold about $20 vs. the hundreds that it would have been if Laurie and I had gone. Regardless, I was proud of the boys!

My little stinker. Amelia has a matching dress to this one of AK's. I love to buy matching clothes. We used to match AK and Aiden, but he's getting dangerously close to not being able to do that anymore. Now it's fun to buy two girls things!

Aiden's 4th Birthday

I absolutely cannot believe that Aiden is four years old. I am in more disbelief of him being for than I am of AK being two! If I do sit back and think about all that has happened to me, my family, and my friends in his four years of life though, it definitely seems possible.

We had a great time at his birthday party this year, that was, for the 3rd year in a row, at Roly Polies again! He thinks that's the only place to have a birthday party, and that cracks me up!

Here is the only picture I have that's decent of the birthday boy. All the kids were all over the place. It was all I could do to keep up with Addie!

Addie had a blast on all of their equipment. Tommy and I were amazed at what all she could do! She did a year's worth of Little Gym this year though, so I guess it paid off!

This was a little half-circle thing that you hold on to and rock back and forth. I climbed in with her and we had a ball!

The little roller coaster is always a hit. I wanted to buy one for our house, but Tommy insisted it was a yard toy, and we do not need any more yard toys! We have a three car garage that is packed tight!

Trampoline - also a hit. They have it as a path where you are only supposed to go one way. My 2 year old did NOT understand that, nor did she care to try to understand it!

Yep, here she is turning around to go back the wrong way!
Love that look of concentration on her face!
The kids played as everyone arrived, then the coaches had a little chat with them all and wished Aiden happy birthday. Tommy and I were so surprised and pleased to see that Addie went right to where he said to go, sat down, and listened attentively!
They blew up the bounce house, that had a small slide. Last year I had to crawl up the ladder with Addie. Not this year!

(Sorry for the picture quality! It was like trying to photograph a tornado!)
Climbing up the small rock wall - little booger did great!
Again on the equipment - this stuff looked like devices of torture to me, but AK loved them!

As you can see by the looks on my face!
So I took over camera duty and Tommy helped her!

This child loves a balance beam - or anything that resembles one!

Back on the little half circle thingy...

Love it!
She was taking a little time out - she had played hard!!!
But not for long - back down the slide -this time head first! (This was after seeing Aiden - who is almost 2 years older than her, not that it matters - do it first!)
Carter and Harrison were there too! Addie just gave a shy little grin when she saw them. She is just taken aback by the two of them! They are so stinkin' cute!
I jumped with her a little on the trampoline. Not much though - trampoline and forceps delivery of said 2-year old = not a good combination!

Addie finally just quit playing! She was worn out! She sat on the side of the trampoline with me and played with Amelia. She is such a good little mother and will hopefully be a great big sister one day!
Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet, cute-as-a-button, lovable, fun, funny, precious godson! We love you so much!

Charleston Fire Department

In April, we went to Charleston for the weekend for Aiden's 4th birthday party, and Amelia's christening. On Saturday, I had to go to downtown Charleston just because I have to every once and a while. We ate a yummy lunch at Jestine's and did a little shopping. I forgot that Jestine's is across the street from the old Charleston Fire Department. While waiting on our check I took Addie out to just walk around a little and we spotted the fire department. All the firefighters were outside and waving at her, so I walked her across the street. She has a fear of firetrucks, and as soon as we got close, she freaked out. Those poor men! I felt awful. When Tommy came out the restaurant, we walked her around behind it to look at all the antique fire trucks they have on site. Addie enjoyed that, once we assured her no siren would go off! As soon as we left, a signal did go off, and the firetruck and all the men we had met went flying down the street!

So sweet! Man, I love these two!

Disney On Ice

We were so excited for the Mathis' to join us for Disney on Ice! We just don't get to do enough with them these days. Addie and Lawson play SO well together too - it's a shame!

Addie Kate really enjoyed the show. It was originally (like back in the fall) supposed to be Finding Nemo on Ice, which I was totally excited about. So, I planned, naturally, to smock Addie a Nemo dress (or close to it - orange fish). Well, it ended up being a 100 Years of Disney Celebration thing. Nemo still showed up though, so we weren't completely off!

She started out a little hesitant, as always...

(I think this was my favorite - all the genies. Aladdin in general, I love!)

Nemo and Dorie - they looked a little funky, but we got the point. It was great too!

And then ALL the princesses came out...

And Addie perked up and was enthralled!

At the end of the show everyone came out that had been in it.
Had to put this picture in there. Cute of Addie watching the show with her daddy, but also, check out Steven in the background about to down the rest of the popcorn - ha!

Us
and the Mathises. (Isn't Landon as sweet as can be? He was just an angel during the whole thing!)
