Lazy Saturday on the Lake

For Mother's Day weekend and my mom's birthday, we stayed with them in Lexington. On Saturday, we woke up late (you know, around 7:45!) and stayed in our jammies until lunchtime! Baby Sanders (who is now one, and bigger than Addie, so I'm not sure that we can call him baby Sanders anymore!) came over to play for a while. Alice and Aunt Mary needed powdered sugar, so I met Alice at the "top of the hill" (the road has a small hill that we have constantly used in conversations!) to let her borrow some of Mom's. We fed Sanders lunch, changed his diaper, and took him back to his mommy and grandmother all tuckered out for his afternoon nap.

These simple things are things I definitely miss. If Tommy and I were out of powdered sugar, we'd just go to the store. None of Addie's friends would we just walk (or push in the stroller!) back over the hill after a playdate. And nowhere would I go still in my pajamas, and meet someone still in her nightgown! While I was growing up, I didn't realize just how special it was to live right beside most of my family and cousins, and now I'd love it for all of us to be beside each other again. Ahhh, the lake is definitely the simple, relaxed, enjoyable life!

Saturday morning pancakes (No, we do NOT allow her to put her feet on the table. This was between reprimands, and I took pictures so I could remember just how stubborn an 18-month old could be!)

An after-breakfast Gator ride (I love it, she can reach and knows how to use her feet to make it move, yet she just uses her tummy and pushes it - see 2nd picture!)

And playing with Sanders. They were both so good, my mom and I were able to sew in between playing with them. Addie would run all over the house, and Sanders would follow crawling. Addie would stand at the corner or wherever she was and say, "Come, come," and move her little hand!
