Spring Fever in Charleston

The weekend before last we were able to enjoy the absolutely gorgeous spring weather in Charleston. I am so glad we had that pretty weather on a weekend when we had already planned to go down there!

We went into Lexington on Friday night so that we could make it to one of our sweet friend's surprise birthday party! I was SO excited to actually make it! Since our move up here, I just hear about their parties and rarely am able to go!

On Saturday, before heading out of town, we visited some with Addie Kate's Maw Maw and Grandaddy Chuck, then went through the touchless car wash. I had my camera ready to go with that, because I just knew Addie Kate would freak. Well, no, she actually didn't mind it. I can't say she loved it, but she didn't scream!

A little unsure at first... then she loved it!

We then headed down the road. We were starving and hoping to have a good lunch at Hominy Grill or Jestine's Kitchen. Well, Tommy and I forgot where Hominy Grill was, and the line for Jestine's was AROUND THE CORNER. So, what do we do? Go to Wild Wings. Boo, but at least Addie could be as loud as necessary in a place like that. Tommy did buy all of us some pralines to make up for lunch. After lunch, I wanted to walk around King Street and enjoy the pretty weather (otherwise known as - SHOP!), well, neither Tommy nor Addie Kate were having any part of that. (I have GOT to work on that with her!) We headed down to the Battery instead to let her run around and play.

Helping Daddy drive on the Battery (not really -we were parked!)

After we took this picture she decided she wanted to get down, face first! I caught her though!

Mommy and Addie Kate playing chase, one of her new favorite games, now that she can (almost) run!

Love these pictures, but how is that sweet face always dirty?!

After we left the Battery we headed to see our sweet friends Jenny and Jason and their boys, Carter, Harrison, and Grady. Addie Kate loved playing on their new swingset and with their Elmo kitchen. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy being around them - we never get to see each other enough! As soon as Jenny emails me pics from that, I'll post them. (You hear that Jenny and Jason????) I have no clue where my camera was at the time!

I definitely deem the day a wonderful, fabulous success!

Here she is - OUT - by the time we got to Elliott and Laurie's that night (which was only about a 15 minute drive from Jenny's). (We had changed her clothes to pants for something more comfy to play in - bless her heart - it was corduroy!)
