Baby, Baby, Baby...

Addie Kate is obsessed with her baby dolls lately. I just love it too, because baby dolls were my favorite toy growing up as well! She already had a few dolls, plus got two more for Christmas. Also for Christmas, Addie Kate's Gam and Pop got her a set of doll accessories - a stroller, an infant carrier, a bouncey seat, etc. Then, a few weeks ago Addie and I met my mom in Newberry (Newberry is halfway between Lexington and here, although I must add that we met for Addie Kate's spring wardrobe planning session! Easter and Spring is a'comin y'all!) and Mom brought Addie one of my old doll beds (the one that survived all of my playing!). As soon as I brought the doll bed in the house, she LOVED playing with it! Although, sometimes, she plays with it in ways other than the intended use! Now, the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night involves her baby and that doll bed!

Note - these pictures and video were taken on the first day or so that I gave her the doll bed. She has since started playing a little more gently with it, and actually puts the baby in the bed the right way, covers her up, and kisses her goodnight. So sweet!

Last week, she really enjoyed putting a different baby in the bouncey seat. She even insisted on bringing it with us upstairs from out of the playroom. She played with it in the loft, then decided the baby had to be with she and I in my closet (where I was getting dressed), and it has resided there since Friday!

Starting yesterday, Addie has really enjoyed pushing around and playing with her doll in the stroller. She cracks me up because she'll get frustrated when it won't go where she wants it to go, so she just picks it up (it's as big as she is) and puts it where she wants it!

Another note here just for my memory's sake - this doll, the one her Mimi gave her for Christmas this year, is by far the favorite these days. Much to my dismay - dang $50 American Girl doll that she just had to have (in other words, I had to have for her!), and other darn Madame Alexander doll that my mom gave her for her first Christmas. Ahhh!

I love watching her learn and grow and enjoy all of her new skills! Had to throw these last two in here of 1- she and I and 2- my happy, happy girl!
