Addie Kate's Birthday Party

Saturday, October 25th was Addie Kate's 1st Birthday Party. It was at 3:00. Guests started arriving around 2:30, and Addie slept until about 3:20! She never ceases to amaze us. On a typical Saturday, when mommy and daddy want to relax while she's napping, she's up in an hour and a half. We have a house FULL of people, talking, laughing, waiting to celebrate a beautiful first year, and she sleeps!

The cakes, the hat, and Addie Kate's cake - all of which I made! The cake knife is from mine and Tommy's wedding - why not use it more often!?!

When Addie did wake up, she was greeted by almost 50 people who came from all over the state to love her. She is such a very blessed little girl! We fed everyone (even though it was a wierd time for a meal!) some yummy barbeque, then Addie opened her presents. She did a great job of sitting in my lap while Tommy handed her the gifts and we both helped her open them. The cards were the first hit, then she would not put down the hot pink crocs from Aunt Lisa, Uncle Mike, Michael, and Margaret (she takes after Mommy and is a shoe girl - yay!). Any books she got, she of course, stopped to look at them. Now that the party is over, she has enjoyed every single gift she was given!

We then sang Addie "Happy Birthday" and she attempted her 3rd birthday cake. This one was better, but she's still not much of a cake person. (which blows us away!) Tommy put a little in her mouth, and then she all of a sudden took her little tongue and put it down on the cake. We thought she'd dive in then for sure, but nope!

After that, Addie was able to play some with all of her friends. She really enjoyed the sliding board that Uncle Paul gave her. It was a beautiful day outside, so a lot of the people migrated out there.

Thank you SO very much to all of our wonderful family and friends. Addie's day could not have been any better and we are so happy and thankful to have all of you in her life. Below are some pictures of her special day. I apologize for the crazy order they're in, but after all that time uploading them, I was not about to rearrange them! (Note - I will continue to add pictures here when I get them from others!)
