Drew at Four Months Old!

Oh, my precious baby boy, you are four months old, and I am in.love.

You smile and coo and laugh, and those sounds just make my heart flutter.

 

You love that big sister. And have the patience of Job with her. Much more than Mommy and Daddy!

 

You rolled over AT your four month doctor's appointment! Mommy sure was glad, and proud!

 

Your sweet, adorable, baby locks, that have stood up all over your head since you entered this world, are slowly falling it. This, Mommy does NOT like. I adore your funky hair!

 

We have started oatmeal with you, to help your reflux, and I believe it has worked. We still have to give you pear juice every once and a while, so that you'll poop, but this has slowed down a bit. We'll start baby food soon. You seem to be a hungry guy! Since you are still so little, Mommy knows you need this, but man I hate to start it. It's one more step in the not-a-tiny-baby process.

 

You love your mama. And I love you! Don't get me wrong. You love your daddy too, but you are definitely Mommy's boy. That's what I hoped for, since your sister thinks your daddy hung the moon!

 

Your spitting up has just continued and continued.... geez louise. The oatmeal has helped a bit, but mostly only at night, since that's when we give it to you. That has improved from you waking up in the middle of the night screaming your little head off in pain. That killed Mommy and Daddy.

 

We knew this at birth of course, but you have a precious birth mark right at the base of your head, on the top of your neck. I love it.

 

You also seem to have a little bit of a stork bite, just like big sister. It wasn't as prominent in the hospital, so no one commented on it like they all did with Addie. But we have noticed it, and just like everything else, we love it.

 

You continue to be so laid back! It's so nice! You are probably the only person in the house that is laid back though. I guess the Lord knew what he was doing when he molded your sweet personality, and fit it perfectly in our family.

 

You have stared playing with toys. A few of your favorites are a rattle (that is just like your sister's favorite rattle, but yours is boy colors, of course!), the toy bar on your infant seat, your playgym and bouncey seat, two linkadoos put together, and a set of rings - those are the absolute favorite.

 

You have quit sleeping through the night. We are working on it. Your favorite time is 2 AM for a passy adjustment, and 4-5 AM for a feeding. It's so different the second time around. I don't mind it near as much and even every now and then enjoy a quick visit with you in the middle of the night. But not every night. We need to fix this - you need your sleep to be a healthy, strong baby, and Mommy and Daddy do so we can take care of you and your sister!

 

Drew, you are loved to the moon and back again. More than I could ever express to you. You make us all so very happy.

Four Month Stats (4 months, 10 days - Sept. 7, 2011):

• Weight - 13.88 lbs (13.52 percentile) (This has constantly fluctuated, but is on an upward curve for the most part. Your sister was the same way, and she's as healthy and smart as can be. So I no longer worry about it.)
• Length - 25.25 in. (44.83 percentile) (Everyone says how long you are, and you ARE with clothing. I guess 13th percentile for weight vs. 44th for length is long!)
• Head - 16.54 in. (54.11 percentile)
