Apple Picking 2011

We journeyed up the mountain to Sky Top Apple Orchard and couldn't have been more excited! Addie Kate loves apples and apple picking, plus, she loves a social event of any kind, silly girl! We were excited to bring Drew up here, on his first trek up the mountain, to the pretty views, and for his first "How Tall This Fall" picture!

As soon as we got there, I had to feed Drew, so Tommy took Addie out to play on some of the playground equipment and playhouses that they have. They were back in the car in about five minutes, Addie saying it was too cold. Sky Top only has two temperatures - hot and cold. We are usually there on the hot days.

Look at my precious little man.
My babies and me. Seriously, how blessed am I?
And here we are - How Tall This Fall? A little over 3 ft.! Addie Kate actually remembered this from past years, and asked to do it!

Since we had just gotten out of the car, and I had Drew all warm and cozy, I didn't take him out and stand him up there. But for the record, he's about 23 inches, I think.

Had to take these pictures, to also show how much my girl has grown. Wow!
I was nervous walking the mountain with Drew. Since I recently fell down the stairs carrying him, embarassing and scary, I was careful of every step I took. It's a root-y, angled, side-of-the mountain walk.
Addie Kate got in there hunting hard for those apples!

I tried to help her, but short of whacking Drew in the head with a limb, Tommy had to take over!

 Love them so much!

I love these pictures of her attacking an apple! It's the same every year - her little teeth still don't cut into one quite yet.

And little man just hung out. He is the happiest thing! Actually, both of my children were as happy as can be in the Baby Bjorn. I used it a lot with Addie Kate, but now that I have a baby AND another to chase after, I use it all the time!
I saw this teeny, tiny apple and picked it for Addie, then Tommy chastised me becuase it was growing and I stopped it!

They have a mini pumpkin patch out there as well. Since I have to have my pumpkins cut off the vine, out of the ground, we never buy them here. Although they are pretty, and big. Addie Kate always climbs all over them while Tommy is waiting in the world's longest line for apple doughnuts.

Here she was showing me one of her gymnastics stretches- she's a nut!

My precious family! We adore fall and all the fun we have during that season! A man stopped us up there and told Tommy, "It's a shame Clemson's having such a bad season!" Ha! Nice to be so happy about Tiger football this year! And there are always lots of Tiger fans up there too, so it's extra fun when everyone's in a good mood!

I wanted to shop at a little gift shop tht I like in Flat Rock, but it was closed. I pouted and told Tommy to just head home. We ended up eating lunch in Traveler's Rest, outside on a screen porch, overlooking the beautiful Swamp Rabbit Trail, and I got over my pout quickly with the beautiful weather and good food! What a fun day!
