Easter Morning Bubbles
In Addie's Easter basket at her MawMaw and Granddaddy's house, there were bubbles. Which of course, we had to play with immediately. In our slip.

Easter Sunday 2010
Easter Sunday was gorgeous! I prefer a later-in-the year Easter. Once Easter hits, I want to wear flip flops, sleeveless clothes, and springy colors. If there's still frost on the ground, you can't do that! I like for the grass to be green and the flowers to be in bloom! And this year, that was the case!
As usual, and for, I hope, many years to come, my mom made Addie Kate's gorgeous Easter dress. I have Addie's Easter dresses picked out for the next few years, I think! I find them in magazines, and I am fortunate to have a mother that can reproduce just about anything. It's a good thing they are usually worn to holy events, as many foul words were usually shed over the making of these beautiful heirlooms!
I said last Easter that Addie would probably not have any more french hand sewn Easter dresses for a while, but I couldn't resist this one. And she did fine! No lace was torn this year, unlike last year. The only issue was pancake syrup in a few places on the front, and that was easily remedied with a rinse in the sink!
Thanks Mimi for this beautiful dress! And Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Fancy dress or not, give my daughter a hill and a big, grassy field to run in, and she takes off!

Love that little tongue sticking out - obviously she was concentrating on something! Probably escaping!

Our best shot at a family picture, which is a milestone in itself - the first picture that AK has stood in. Of course, it was because she wouldn't let us hold her, but still, it's a milestone in and of itself!
So, we took some pictures without her!
Aunt Sue and Uncle Paul
Mimi and Googa (which used to be "Gorga"), my parents.
And.... she found the ramp! Turkey!
Uncle Paul came to the rescue and grabbed her for an attempt at a family picture. Mommy can only do so much chasing in heels!

My girl and me! Good thing she has my coloring, because otherwise, she'd look just like her daddy! (She does look a lot like my baby pictures, and really looks a lot like two of my cousins.) I think it's so neat for children to be a good mix of both parents!

Dying Eggs
I have to laugh as I remember dying eggs with Addie Kate last year. It was brand new to her and she was wild! I remember starting out in her slip, but then having to finish naked as she had ruined the slip, and gotten my mom, my mema, and me covered in dye!
This year was totally different. She was into it! She was serious, and enjoyed every bit of it. We dyed a dozen eggs, but totally should have done more. It went by quickly and she wanted to do more. I'll know better for next time - but what do people do with all those eggs?
Just starting out:

I love, love, love each expression on her sweet little two year old face!
This was as creative as I got - writing her name on it with the wax crayon. She thought it was great!

St. Peter's Egg Hunt 2010
I love the St. Peter's Egg Hunt each year. I love watching the children grow up and change. And I love seeing all the new babies come along! This was Addie's second year (this was her 3rd Easter - her first Easter I didn't bother with an egg hunt) and Wow! has she changed!
Addie invited Sanders to come along and join in the fun. It was fun for me too, to be doing something with my cousin and her son. We live too far apart, and I imagine if we lived closer we'd be doing a lot of this. Addie and Sanders already have a special bond, and I love it!

(Sadly, these were the best pictures we got of the two of them before the hunt! Even Mr. James, our resident photographer, didn't do much better! Seriously, you wouldn't think I have as fancy a camera as I do! UGH! )

On the hunt - she knew exactly what to do! (Although, there were not enough eggs, again, to go around! They need a ton, as this is the biggest age group!) (No, that is not Tommy with me. I can't remember where he was - golf maybe?)
Some eggs had things in them, some didn't. She expected them all too because at the babysitter, all the eggs on their hunt had something in them. Here she had finally found one with something in it and would not move on until I opened it!

Sweet Sanders - look how cute that smile is!
Addie looks a little upset about something! This was probably when there were no more eggs to be found!
And, probably the best picture I got of her all day!
Here Alice and I were trying to get a picture of Sanders and Addie. We failed.

At least Sanders is smiling. Addie looks over it!
I love how they are looking at each other here - like they are plotting something against their mommies!

These two little boogers found the ramp in the front of the church. That ramp has drawn kids in for generations. AK LOVES it!
She just ran, and ran, and ran some more. Which I don't mind, except it is hard concrete under that astroturf - I've seen some nasty falls!
Here she spots the next age group up, in which her other cousin, Logan, was in. I tried to get a picture of him, but I kid you not, as soon as he rounded the corner, he was OFF! I think there's a future in track for him!
We had a great time and I'm looking forward to next years already. Next year, AK will be in the next age group up, and they'll actually hide the eggs!
