11 Months Old and Words I Say:

Now that Addie Kate is 11 months old, and talking all the time, I thought I'd list her words. I don't ever want to forget this sweet time! (but since I do have mommy brain, I may have to revisit this and add what I've already forgotten!)

MaMa
DaDa
Bye Bye
UhOh
Come (welcome)
Come here
Come back
Coby (A little boy that stays with her during the day)
Bird (she is still fascinated with them!)
And here she is at 11 months old, WOW! She's funny and sweet and more perfect than we could ever imagine!

Addie Kate's First Clemson Game

The weather was perfect for Addie Kate's first Clemson home game this past weekend. We enjoyed a weekend with Heather, Steven, and Lawon, tailgating before the game, staying at the game through halftime (mostly to see the SC State band, which is far longer than I'd ever imagined us staying!), and a little shopping during the 2nd half of the game! Addie Kate and Lawson absolutely loved playing together, which mommy and Aunt Heather loved too! They both did great at the game, then conked out as soon as they hit the strollers outside the stadium and stayed asleep through lunch downtown! (including a rickety trip up the stairs outside the soccer stadium - you know you are in Clemson when two guys offer to help two ladies with strollers up the stairs, and do it quiet enough to keep the babies asleep!) Below are some pics!

At the tailgate:
(Addie Kate is thinking here - NOT picking her nose, Aunt Heather!)

How sweet is this? Heather and I caught them holding hands several times over the weekend - including in the car, reaching out from their car seats!
A little bottle action before we walked in: And at the game:

After we left the game - two tired tigers!

And lastly, what does everyone need after a Clemson game? A bath!

First Steps!

Addie Kate turned 11 months old yesterday, and proceeded to stand up by herself (without pulling up on anything) and take her first steps too! We couldn't believe what we were seeing!

I didn't get video of the very first steps, but I did get video of the 2nd one. Please excuse the sideways video at first - I forgot what I was doing!

Thanks Gam and Pop!

We went to visit Gam and Pop while in Lexington for a bit, and came home with this fun new toy! Addie Kate has LOVED having it in the middle of the living room floor!

Sweet Homecoming!

Daddy finally came home last Tuesday night! WooHoo! Words cannot describe how excited Addie Kate and I were to see Daddy! 14 days is too long to be away from each other! Tommy and I haven't been apart that long since we started dating, including when he was in Charleston and I was in Clemson, and when he was in Greenville and I was in Lexington! Here are some pics of Addie Kate at the airport waiting on Daddy's arrival!

She LOVED the fountain in the airport - the stroller didn't last long! She then proceeded to entertain everyone at the airport as she crawled (yes, on that dirty airport floor) around all over the place, walked with me, and sat and talked to anyone!

And THIS is what we were waiting for! Welcome home daddy!

Lipstick already?

No thank you! I'm not crazy! But, Addie Kate does love some blueberries! This is her after enjoying blueberry pancakes (with real blueberries, obviously!) at my parents this past Sunday morning. Mmmm!

Man, I miss my Daddy!

So much so, that Addie Kate has resorted to feeding his shoes...

Rock, rock...

Addie Kate LOVES to rock. I am so glad, and even Tommy is, that we have a baby that loves to cuddle. So many people told us not to rock our child to sleep, which we considered, but as a very young baby, it just calmed Addie so well, that we continued it. Now that she moves constantly, both Tommy and I enjoy rocking her at night.

That being said, she's learned to rock herself, and it is so sweet! All you have to say to her is, "rock, rock," and away she goes! About three weeks ago, we were waiting outside Cracker Barrell and I put Addie Kate in one of their child-size rocker. So cute! She loved it. Needless to say, we are getting her a rocking chair for her first birthday!

Can we say, babyproofing?

This is an old update, but I cannot get google or blogger to upload the video. Alas, I'm going to post about this, without video (which is the best part), just know that it's about 3 weeks old.

On the weekend of my birthday, Tommy and I had a benefit to go to, so my parents came up to keep Addie Kate for us, then celebrate my birthday the next day. We went to breakfast/lunch at the Cracker Barrell (that, by no means, is brunch!), then came home for birthday cake. Addie kept escaping to the stairs, and since she refuses to listen to the word, "No," I just let her start climbing to see what would happen. Once I saw her scale about three of them, I grabbed my camera (my mom was right there with her hand on her back the whole time). She climbed THE ENTIRE FLIGHT! At 10 months old! Holy Moly! I have it all on video and I'll try a few more times to get it up here, but until then, here are some pictures. (Oh, and let me add that my dad brought me my camera to take the pictures, then asked me, "Are you going to take pictures of her, tell her how cute she is, then tell her no for doing that?" True!)

Never fear, she had on a pair of matching bloomers... but, she had a BLOWOUT in Cracker Barrell that resulted in dirty bloomers!

We had put up a gate at the top of the stairs, then after this incident, bought one for the bottom of the stairs, that stinks! So, the hunt or something is still on. Hopefully she'll just learn the word, "No!"

Pretty, pretty!

I know one day, soon probably, I'll have to quit telling Addie Kate how pretty she is! I also know that every parent thinks their child is the prettiest thing to ever walk the Earth. So, since we all agree on that, I think you'll let me say how beautiful my little girl looked at church on Sunday. She was in a precious new dress and adorable big bow! Her sweet little tootsies are still barefoot, and (although I have bought her first pair of shoes - sweet little white mary janes!) those big blue eyes and happy smile just topped it all off!

Ready for lunch grandmama! I want some more butter beans! (Friday night Addie Kate was not in the mood to sit in the highchair for dinner. To avoid a screaming fit, I just held her. That little stinker promptly reached into my plate and grabbed some butterbeans. She loved them and couldn't get enough of them! It was too cute!) Playing with my dollhouse after lunch. (thanks Aunt Heather/Lawson/Kaye aka "Honey!" - I love it!)
And finally, a big snooze with Gorga! She was SO good at church and played so hard afterwards, that she just zonked out when Gorga was playing with her!

A View of the Pearlies! (and bathtime at the grandparents!)

It was definitely obvious that Addie Kate was enjoying her lunch at her Grandma and Gorga's house - as she had to have a bath afterwards! (In other words, she gets to do what she wants!) Below are some pictures of bath time in the sink - she loved it!

And, the last picture is her two sweet little teeth! The left one came in first, then the right one was about 3 days later. So cute! I love it when she smiles at us and you see that pretty white shining!

Hey Grandma, is this baby wash organic?

Oooh, look - a place to drop my goodies! Don't y'all play with lids and bowls while taking a bath?

And here they are...
