Addie Kate's New Talent

Here's our little angel, with her latest lady-like talent...

On Friday, my mom and I shopped a little with Addie Kate. At lunch, my tea went down the wrong way and I started coughing... well so did Addie Kate. It cracked me up! Every time I coughed, she coughed! It was hilarious! I was in tears!

Then, my Aunt Ellen kept telling me that she "did the piggy" just like I used to. Sure enough, that's been her favorite thing to do lately. Every time Tommy and I do it, she mocks us and it's hilarious!

I was able to get a few videos of her with her new talents. The last video is of her playing in her room - it shows how she is ready to crawl any day now!

Crazy childcare weeks have concluded! Whew, it's been a busy two weeks in our house! School ended last week for me [which may seem like nothing, but it meant Tommy and me moving ALL of my teaching stuff (which is the equivalent of a small house) out of my school and into our garage - I am changing schools next year], but Mrs. Lu couldn't keep Addie Kate, which is why Margaret came up. Then, this week, for my first week of summer, I took a class, which led to more childcare arrangements. My sweet Aunt Ellen came up to keep Addie for us for Monday and Tuesday, then my mom came up and finished up the week. I wish I could say that summer is now going to officially start for us, but on Tuesday of this coming week, Tommy, Addie Kate, my mom, and I are flying out to Denver for a class for me, and a little vacation!

Thank you so much Aunt Ellen and mom, I know Addie loved being with you, plus you both were such a huge help to Tommy and me!

Splish, Splash... Addie's moving up in the bath!

After two, yes two, unfortunate incidents of Addie hitting her head (nothing major, just a big frown and a lot of tears) while attempting a bath in something other than her infant tub, I broke down and bought a contraption from Babies R Us. Turns out, I really like this bath seat, and so does Addie! (Which in all reality, is the only thing that matters, right?) Here are a few pictures of Addie playing in her tub, and a few videos of her too. Also, you can hear her saying "bye, bye," the word of the week. Addie can wave too, but she was way too busy playing to do so during this video! (By the way, Addie Kate already says, and has for a while, Ma-Ma and Da-Da, but Tommy and I aren't 100% sure that she's directing the words specifically at us. However, there are times when she says them and is looking straight at us like she means it, so who knows? And no, we aren't crazy! There are numerous witnesses that have heard her say these words! As much as Tommy and I talk, is it really any wonder?)

She cracks us up - sometimes she'll only whisper "bye bye," then sometimes she'll whisper it, then scream it, like she had to warm up!

Congratulations Aunt Kayla!

Kayla, Tommy's youngest sister, graduated from Lexington High School this past weekend. We enjoyed watching her finally walk across the stage and loved seeing her so happy! Congratulations Kayla... your present is on the way! (Tommy, Addie Kate, and I left in such a hurry, naturally, on Saturday, that we forgot Kayla's present!) Here are some pictures of the happy graduate!

I put Addie in a blue and white dress, appropriate for Lexington's graduation, especially since this is her mommy and daddy's alma mater, too!

After graduation, we celebrated with a nice pool party. Here's Addie in the pool (there's also some video if google decides to cooperate) and then playing at Pop and Gam's later in the day. She had an absolute blast in the pool this time! It was so much fun watching her. Tommy later said that he thought that was the most fun he'd had with her so far. She's learned to kick and splash and loved getting it in her face!

Addie Kate's cousin Margaret came to my rescue this past week (the last week of school)! She kept Addie for me and was an absolutely wonderful help. Thank you so much Margaret! We miss you!

My new ride!

Hi everyone! I wanted you to see pictures of my new carseat! Mommy can't carry me anymore in my infant seat, even though I am still tiny enough to fit in it and probably will be for a while! So, Daddy came to the rescue and hooked me up with this new seat! I love it - it's just like a lazy boy! Oh, and don't worry - my grandma Schreiber (who still remains nameless) is making me a super cute pink and green cover to hide the ugly black and gray!
