Addie Kate's 4th Birthday Party

We had a blast for Addie Kate's 4th birthday. We had it at Pump It Up again, but this year shared it with her friend Olivia Kate. These girls were precious! 

I have major mommy guilt because Addie wanted her party at Pump It Up, but also wanted a princess party. With us about to move, our house was not in shape for a party at home. Plus, I couldn't figure out what to do for the boys. Next year, no matter what, she'll have one of those fancy themed birthday parties!

 I told the bakery to have her cake be orange and pink polka dots. I was not pleased.

 We didn't open presents there - thought it'd be too confusing and take too long. But the girls loved sitting on their throne anyway!

Grandparent Birthday

Addie Kate's grandparents came over before her party to celebrate her birthday with her. However, these were the only two pictures we took for some reason.

Drew in his bumbo, in his pitiful excuse of a nursery. 

We were supposed to move two weeks after he was born, so we never did anything to decorate his room. All of the fabric was bought, and Mom made the bedding, but nothing else. My sewing machine was even still in there. Now, seven months later, we are finally moving. But it's still just temporary until the end of the school year. (Frustrating, extremely.) Bless his heart, not that he knows or cares, but his room is the first one that will be completed in the new house!

Happy Birthday Addie Kate, from Mommy, Daddy, and Drew

I think Addie Kate had a good birthday. I wish we could get away from so many material things. But I am the world's worst at wanting my children to have everything. I'm working on it. 

She still loves these snap-n-style dolls. I highly recommend them for a gift for a toddler girl. Especially a girly one, like mine.

 Baby brother just hung out and rolled around.

 Addie Kate's newest favorite thing is these little polly-pocket type Disney princess dolls. We got some randomly, not even knowing what they were. Now she loves them!

 Some new Ariel panties and a Tinkerbell V-reader book.

 New books of course - almost all pink! Princess books, Shoe La La, and Penny Loves Pink.

I can't completely remember why Drew wasn't buttoned up, but I think his little legs are so cute, so that was probably it.

 More reading. Just like my dad. Will stop opening gifts to read a new book!

 Tommy had to help her with this box. You tore it open and it formed a castle that you could play with, until it fell apart.

We then went outside for the big finale. I finally convinced Tommy that the girl needed a playhouse. I guess him being a boy could just never wrap his mind around why anyone would want one. I had one growing up that my Dad built us, and we loved it. Too bad I couldn't convince Tommy that we needed the $2000 one that I saw, but this one she loves anyway. I just hate we waited until her 4th birthday to get her one.

These Boots Were Made for Walking...

My girl in my boots. I've pondered buying her a pair of Uggs. I think they are cute on some little girls, when worn with the right trendy outfit. But for the most part, I don't dress Addie Kate trendy, so we'll probably wait. Apparently, she's ready for them though. I think these were hip-high on her. We are not ready for that!

Paty Gown

And since I just did an entire post on Addie Kate and her pajamas, I may as well throw in a picture here of my almost six month old son, wearing a Paty gown. I thought Tommy was going to die. But these things are so roomy, and the laundry was overdue, in it he went! He was also about to have his first haircut here, so his hair is in his full, wild-man form. And the bald spot, that both of my kids had. I think both of my babies were born with so much hair, that it was just inevitable for them to have a bald spot. Because I think everyone knows me well enough to know that my children are held plenty! Drew does love playing on his back, so his bald spot may remain a while longer. And, notice he's putting his own passy in. He mastered that early on, and we love it!

Princess Jammies

Nothing special about this picture, but I sure do love it. 

Addie Kate in her princess jammies, which I think are so tacky, but she loves them and I love that she loves them. I went in to check on her in bed the other night, and she was wearing a different pair of princess jammies. I laughed to myself as I grimaced at how "not cute" they were, and thought about how much she loves them. And about how little she still really is. And about how that sweet, sleeping girl, was my girl, and how I'll remember this moment always. Her asleep, angelic looking, even baby-looking, in her beloved princess jammies. I had recently told Tommy how OVER the princesses I am. That's all we talk about, that's all we play with, that's all she wants to play dress up as... but again, I'll miss it. I love her excitement for it. I am looking more forward to taking her to Disney World in February than I am Christmas. When she's rocking out to the latest band, or talking to me about boys and middle and high school issues, I'll remember these princess jammies. And until then, I'm going to adore my girl in her princess jammies. And thank God that she's so happy.
