Memorial Day 2011... recap.

I've already written about our Memorial Day, but I was able to get a few more pictures and wanted to make sure to update.

Again, we had a great time. Good food, celebrating the pool being opened up...

 Except for one little teeny tiny - he hasn't learned to love the water as much as his mommy, daddy, and sister!

 In fact, he hated it! It's really ridiculous how cute I think this is. Poor little man!

We have since (at almost four months and really warm pool waters) put him all the way in the water, and he loved it! It was so enjoyable to have all of my family enjoying the pool together! So sad that summer's pretty much over now that he's learned to love it! I can't wait until next summer! He'll be everywhere!

Drew meets Ellie

It was wonderful being pregnant at the same time as my friend Brooke. She had her precious baby, Ellie, just four weeks after I had Drew. Ellie is a tiny thing, and it shows in the pictures below! My Drew is small compared to babies his age, but next to her, he looks like a chunky monkey! Brooke and I were able to get together a few times this summer, and finally remembered to take a picture of them the second time! I feel bad for Drew - I had a picture of everyone that ever laid hands on Addie Kate, and Drew, not the case! In fact, these are Brooke's pictures!

Brooke has become a great friend! We have so much in common, and now really do with these two little miracle babies. I am looking forward to watching them grow up together! And hopefully, we will both soon find time to sew together for these precious little ones!

The Bumbo

Since we started the solid foods, and since Drew isn't quite sitting up on his own, I got out the Bumbo to see if he could sit in it at all while we fed him his oatmeal. We didn't put Addie in it until she was about four months, and she had better head control from the beginninig than Drew does. He is still a little wobbly, and we don't use it for long, but every now and then it does help.

I love this little sleeper! Drew's Mema, his great grandmother, gave it to him. It always reminds me of my Boompa because he was the closest thing to a rock star that we have in our family! That man could play any musical instrument! I squeezed Drew in it one last time the other day!

Of course big sister is never too far away, and is Drew's biggest cheerleader!

I would have been shocked if Addie Kate hadn't climbed in this seat herself! Sad thing is that her tiny hiney still somewhat fits! (And see my consignment price tag? I love that I got this for $10! When AK was a baby, they were still $30 even at consignment! I was able to borrow Lawson's pink one though for her, thankfully! And yes, I said pink for Lawson - Heather found a deal and didn't care the color. She loves a deal as much as I do! I also bought this the day after I found out I was pregnant. I just knew that God was giving us a precious boy, and I was right! I was so confident in this pregnancy, praise Him!)

Drew's First Solid

Tommy and I decided, when Drew was around 12 weeks old, that we'd try to get him started on some cereal at night. His reflux was so bad, that we just felt he needed something else in his tummy to keep it down. He was already sleeping through the night, so this would only help things, hopefully.

He didn't know what to think of this new "stuff" in his little mouth! And unlike his sister, he mostly pushed it all out. Addie would eat anything and everything!

But we persisted, and now, a month later, he still isn't wild about it!

But we persist. Little man can certainly use the calories, and it's helped with his constipation issues, believe it or not (we did oatmeal, not rice, since rice is so constipating). I'm sure his GI doctor won't believe that! (Let me explain here that Drew all but quit pooping entirely on his own, sending us to the ped week after week, having a rectal exam - poor guy!, an x-ray, and finally a referral to a peds GI. We still aren't out of the woods, but are better off than we were!)

And finally, when we are all done, we are rewarded with a nice warm bottle of the good stuff!

Vacation Bible School 2011

Addie Kate was able to participate in Vacation Bible School for the first time this year! She did it at St. Peter's in Lexington, the same week we had her swimming lessons in Lexington, and right before we had Drew baptized at St. Peter's. It just all fell into place and was so nice. Every other year we have been on vacation for it, and the church we go to up here doesn't start it until they are four! We were all so happy for her to attend!

Addie had a blast! I knew she would! Her friend Lawson was able to go as well, which I think made her enjoy it even more. Her cousin Logan was there too, and we ate dinner with him each night.

The pictures below are of her NOT participating in the little program at the end of the week. She was such a booger! She knew every word and movement to the songs and had been singing them all week, but just did nothing during the program. I'm not really surprised, but I hate it, because I do not want her to have stage fright!

Yep, the ONLY kid sitting down! Geez!

As of now, these are the only pictures I have of our fourth of July! That's not good!

But for a fun little comparison - what a difference a year makes! Addie looks so much older, and we have our sweet little boy with us now! Mommy and Daddy are still looking rough, but in my opinion, that's the sign of a fun day!
