And then she proceeded to get stiff, fall backwards, and hit her head. Good Times!

6 Month Doctor's Visit

Addie visited Dr. Greene on Thursday for her 6 month check-up. All is well and we are so happy! Addie weighed 15 lbs., 10 oz., which puts her in the 30th percentile! WooHoo!!! This is the highest percentile she's ever been in! She was in the 60th percentile for head circumference and the 50th for length. Her ears looked great, so Tommy and I can confidently announce that she has "found her ears" instead of worrying that she's just playing with them because they hurt. The Dr. said that her teeth should break through very soon and that it is possible for her to have hay fever/seasonal allergies, although it is rare for babies her age. Her development and everything else was right on target, so Tommy and I were happy. Rotten old nurse still had to give her 4 shots though, yuck. After Addie regained normal color, she was fine!



In honor of being 6 (and a half) months old, here are a six great things about our girl:

1 - She loves to "rub" and often falls asleep rubbing our hair, our arm, anything soft.

2 - She has really developed her personality, and smiles, laughs, and coos nonstop.

3 - She will go to most anyone, yet looks around and makes sure Mommy and Daddy are still close by.

4 - Mommy and Daddy are still her favorite toys.

5 - She can say so many sounds, and we swear can say things. (Ma, Da, Ba (the current favorite), uh-oh, ahhh, Mmmm are a few common ones!)

6 - She can sit up and roll over, which lets her do so many new things!

Go Tigers! Addie Kate's First Baseball Game

The Tigers came to play in Greenville last Wednesday. We took full advantage of a local, night-time, beautiful weather game, and took Addie to see her first baseball game. Rusty and Paul joined us at Fluor Field (formerly known as West End Field), which is a beautiful baseball stadium. I am proud to call Greenville my home when there are such nice places as this for us to enjoy.

Addie sported one of her new Clemson outfits. She needed something with a sleeve, and possibly pants because it is still getting cool up here at night (which we love!!!), so I put her in this 12 months, football outfit! She looked cute wearing it as a dress, but when I put the pants on her - that was a joke! I'm sure for next year I'll find her (or better yet, get my mom to make) a baseball outfit!




Yes, I have straight hair here. I had just gotten it cut, and since the pregnancy, it's gotten much straighter on top, so the hairdresser decided to straighten it just for fun. But, Big T likes the curls, and they are SO much easier, so they are back - never fear!

Our Weekend

We've had a busy past few weeks, and it doesn't appear to be lightening up any time soon! Our friend Rusty came in from Delaware to spend some time with us (and Clemson), so to give the boys some time this weekend, to do whatever it is boys do, Addie Kate and I went to Lexington. Still in Greenville though on Friday night we were able to go out with friends, after Addie had a MAJOR blowout that resulted in a bath (I swear she only does this when we are going somewhere) and a lot of laundry.

On Saturday, Addie was able to go visit her Boompa, my Dad's father. This was the first time Addie's gotten to see him in the nursing home, and the first time she and Boompa were able to be so close. I think it really brightened Boompa's day to see her. He seemed so happy and talked to her just as much as he could! Here are some pics of Boompa, Mema, and Addie...

Sunday was St. Peter's 280th Homecoming. (I think that's the right number - I was a little distracted during the sermon! What I heard was good though, thanks Pastor Rawl!) I was so glad Addie and I were able to be in Lexington for it, just wish Tommy could have been there. What a special thing it is to be a member of a church that is so rich in history. Here are some pictures of Addie at the picnic after the service, in a big-girl high chair (with a little help from her diaper bag!). She loved sitting in it, I think because she was able to see everyone around her. We sat with my friend Ashley and her family, and her little Quincey kept Addie in laughs. We also went through several plastic spoons and offering envelopes - Tommy and I are going to have to put more money in the plate to replace those costs!

The Root of ADHD

I've found it - this has got to be the root cause of ADHD. Could there be any more stimulation on this thing? Holy Cow!

One of my parents let me have her baby's exersaucer - she's done with kids! I was completely grateful! I got it all cleaned up and Tommy and I put Addie Kate in it last night. Whoa... there were times when she liked it and times when she screamed! I honestly think it was just too much for her! There are any number of studies done on children and television and ADHD, etc., but what about these toys? It's too much for me, and I'm not 6 months old!

Anyway, here are some pics of Addie-poo and her new toy. Hopefully she'll start to really enjoy it and it'll be our "end all to save all!" If not, that's ok... we need no help with Attention Deficit's in our family!

Lexington Visit... (How many posts are named this I wonder?)

This weekend was another trip to Lexington for us. Originally it was going to just be Addie and me, mainly for the St. Peter's Mother/Daughter Tea, but Daddy also joined us so he could finish putting in the floor at Kyle's office. Tommy and Addie went to Lexington on Saturday morning, and I came later that afternoon because I had class Saturday morning. (Thank HEAVENS that's over!) Addie Kate spent Saturday morning with her Gram, then Saturday afternoon with my parents, her Nana and Gorga. I know all of them enjoyed her without Tommy and me there! Here's a picture of Addie trying out blueberries for the first time over at her Nana and Gorga's: (She should love them, I ate blueberries like it was my job while I was pregnant with her - fiber content and all! Oh, and yes, that is her infant seat (actually, Lawson's) - she's still not sitting well enough for the highchair - at least not my mom and my high chairs - they are the antique wooden ones that would HURT if she toppled over!)


Mommy and Daddy also got to enjoy an adults evening on Saturday, with Heather and Steven, which was SO nice, then Heather and Lawson came to visit Addie on Sunday. (Yes, we are all piled in the bed - don't know how that happened!)


We all three went to lunch at Tommy's mom's house, where Addie really enjoyed spending time with them, especially her Aunt Christie and friends. Addie was getting a little fussy (fighting sleep, her favorite thing to do) and Christie calmed her right down! Here's Addie showing them her new trick of rolling over, and playing with her precious new firefly that was in her treat bag from Aiden's birthday party (along with some teething biscuits - that Aunt Laurie knows what she's doing!).

Lastly, Addie Kate and I went to join my mother at the Mother/Daughter Tea at St. Peter's. This was such a very special time for my mom and me, because never before has she been a grandmother, nor I a mother. It was wonderful to be in this new capacity! We also had portraits taken there, which I will post when I get them back. The theme of the program was quilting, so my wedding quilt, my grandmother's quilt that my mom finished, and Addie's quilt that was made by two of her great grandmothers and her Nana were all displayed. There was a program and all three of us were able to be in it. The program was amazing - it was the story of a quilt made of special articles of clothing from a young girl's life. Then, each article was "acted out" as the story was read. My mom, Addie, and I were the baptism scene. We pretty much just stood there while the Fulmer sisters that go to St. Peter's sang "I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry," which is one of our favorite songs (it was sung and Tommy's and my wedding), so it was hard not to get those new mom sniffles, but I handled it! (No, that's not a hankie in my mom's hand - it's a burp cloth - you know, they are attached to us!) Addie did great in her acting debut! And, mom and I were delighted that she was able to wear her beautiful christening gown again! Here are some pictures of that special day! Roll Over, Roll Over

Sweet Addie can roll over! She's been rolling over from tummy to back since she was 2 weeks old. Well, all of a sudden on Wednesday, she rolled from back to tummy, then over and over again! She rolled from Mrs. Lu's couch to her TV, then got mad because she couldn't go any further! So cute! Tommy got some video of here - it's in two parts because it took her a while to get going on the first one, then the second one she rolls almost immediately! If you are wondering who all the fools talking in the background are, they are Tommy and me, which are the typical crazy voices you hear, and also Will and Shannon. The pictures are of Addie before and after she's rolled - pretty much looking at us like, "What's the big deal?"
