Cousins at the Zoo

Alice came for a good several weeks in July, and we both loved getting the kids together. I know Addie Kate and Sanders loved having someone right there to play with, other than their siblings and mother! 

We went to the zoo one day and had a great time. The zoo in Columbia is like going downtown in Greenville, to us.

 I could not believe AK petted this tortoise. There was an older lady there they was petting her and told her she had done it for years. Addie Kate isn't afraid of anything on this bigger level, including snakes, scorpions, etc. But now a gnat or a fly gets in the house or the car, and she LOSES it.  We promptly went to sanitize after this!

 They went on the train all by themselves! This was big for them, and their mommies!

 Feeding the goats. Alice and I had to empty both purses to find enough change to buy one handful of feed!

Greek for a Weekend

Are these Easter lilies not some of the most beautiful you've ever seen? They just had a "hedge" of them! My precious girl always, always stops to smell the flowers. Isn't it nice to have that kind of time and simplicity? And she rarely passes a flower without picking it for her mama. I couldn't let her pick these beauties though!

We adore Greenville's Greek Festival. It is just top notch - everything they do is great! It's always super crowded, which is my least favorite part, but it certainly doesn't stop us from going every year, and this year, twice. Addie Kate enjoyed the rides both times, and we ate way too much both times. On Saturday, we went at an odd time, kind of an early dinner, and were able to have a little picnic! It was so much fun to do that! Drew absolutely loved the orzo, and Addie Kate is a great eater and explorer of new foods. Her favorite was the spanakopita.  

Drew's First SERIES of Steps

Our sweet boy took his first series of steps, actually walking from place to place, at Edisto. I blame it on the tile floors - he just didn't like the way they felt, the coolness of them, on his legs! Whatever it takes, our little man was on the go! What a great memory!

Great Wolf Lodge 2013

Heather asked us if we wouldn't mind going to Great Wolf Lodge for Lawson's 6th birthday. He had told her he'd rather do that than have a party. We were excited to go! We knew the kids would love it. 

We started off stopping at Bass Pro Shop ...always a favorite with the kids and Dad. 

 We then headed straight there. The kids liked it as soon as they stepped foot in the lobby! 

After playing all day, we got dry and hunted for some dinner. We realized Macadoo's, one of our favorites from Boone, was close by! Drew didn't realize it though, and slept through dinner. He had never played so hard! When we tried to wake him up, he cried until we let him go back to sleep! 

 There were all sorts of activities that night, but the kids liked the arcade best. 

 And we were back at it the next day! 

Such a fun trip and we are looking forward to our next one!
