Turkey Helper

Addie and I wanted to make something fun for her class for Thanksgiving. I ran across some easy turkey cupcakes and knew she'd love them. It meant baking, making a mess, and chocolate - 3 of my girl's favorite things!

Look how messy that dress got! And that was from baking - not from preschool!

That sweet, messy smile! That girl loves to lick a beater!

Please excuse the dirty dinner dishes. Ugh! Doing something after school means we are in a big hurry, which meant, apparently, not cleaning off the table first! And look at my little stinker eating the sprinkles. She cracks me up!

Our finished product. I thought they turned out pretty cute since I have NO talent in this area! (And yes, we are already decorated for Christmas at this point!)

And I have to put this in here, to remember it later...

When Tommy was taking AK to school the next day, AK did some of her usual shenanigans. First of all, her lunchbox attaches to her backpack, which makes it either too awkward or too heavy to carry - whichever it is, she doesn't like to carry it. She also likes to walk on the long, tall retaining wall that leads down to the preschool (which we have since cut out!). So Tommy's holding all her stuff, plus the cupcakes. He told her not to walk on the wall that morning because he didn't have a free hand if she went to fall. (Granted, it's usually not an issue.) Well, sure enough, she stumbled. Tommy had to drop the cupcakes and everything else. He called me and said they looked awful and that I better call up the school and explain! I did, and of course, they did NOT care, and her teachers are so sweet they tried cleaning them up a little. Lesson learned I guess. AK felt terrible!
