Delight in Reading

It's been a week since I've blogged. That's a long time for me these days, and I have hated not updating all of you on our sweet Addie. She's been doing well, but we have all had trouble adjusting to me going back to work. Tommy's been helping me just about every night after Addie Kate's gone to be - stuffing envelopes, labeling things, etc. And I'm sure the fun isn't over either. I always forget how much work the first week or two of school is - it always blows me away, plus this year I have started a different grade at a different school, whew! Things are going well with it. I told Tommy today that I think I have definitely made the best decision for our family and myself. That's nice as I'm always so "iffy" about decisions I make! Thank you Tommy for being such a great and supportive husband. I don't know of many husbands that would climb in the floor with their wives and help them with their work. I know how truly blessed I am to have you and I love you so much!

As for Addie, she has started a new babysitter. We aren't quite at 100% yet, but hopefully we'll get there. I really want her to stay in an at-home environment until preschool, but this may not be the one. Nothing bad, I don't want to freak anyone out, I'm just not sure that this is the best fit for us and most importantly, for our Addie. I'll keep you updated. We are on about 10 different waiting lists for only the best preschools around Greenville. Hopefully one of those will turn up soon for her for an 18 month program for next year, as she will not be 2 by September 1st. As I'm sure I'll love her being the oldest in her grade as she grows up, it's highly frustrating to me right now! We can only put her in either a non-preschool setting next year (not at all what I want) or an 18 month program, which, to meet my standards, are few and far between. In Lexington, I never once heard of preschool being the hunt that it is here - Addie Kate should have been on waiting lists when in the womb! (Which we did find our first babysitter, the famous and fabulous Mrs. Lu, while she was in the womb, and was on her list before most of our family even knew I was pregnant!)

That's enough of an update. Here are some pictures of Addie enjoying one of Mommy's pleasures - magazines! She dearly loves my magazine rack (which Tommy hates because I let them pile up)! Mostly, she pulls the magazines off the rack until she gets the one she wants, then she "reads" it. It's precious to watch! I love to watch her get the ones out of her way that she doesn't want - she just takes them and throws them behind her, often over her head. It cracks me up that she knows to do this! Here are some pictures of her and her mess of magazines!
