We had loads of Easter fun!
On the l last day of school before Easter, it sure was a struggle getting my two out of the bed! Spring Break couldn't have come any sooner!
I loved putting my girl in that bishop for elementary school. I know she'll look silly in one next year!
Drew had an egg hunt and Easter party in his class. I stopped by and got to see his cute little face paint.
My two on Palm Sunday:
We had to run to the mall randomly one day, which I never do, especially with both kids. They saw the Easter Bunny and just had to have a picture taken. Bless it, he sure is creepy!
Addie Kate, of course, enjoyed the favor!
We baked some chick cupcakes. I somehow managed to mess up Resurrection Rolls, so we went for something I could handle this year.

My girl LOVES to help me bake. I just cannot keep sweets around the house, so we just don't do it enough!
We enjoyed many egg hunts. St. Peter's is always a favorite. Lots of activities, the hunt, good food, and a visit by the bunny. This year was the first where Drew didn't scream! It's progress (our trip to Disney certainly helped), but I sure have a love in my heart for screaming Santa or Easter bunny pictures!

The weather was less than desirable, so eggs were hid in various rooms around the church. Drew was in the nursery. There were plenty of places to hide eggs in there!
I guess my boy was concentrating super hard, with that tongue hanging out of his mouth!
Drew went to grab an egg of the table, when he saw another little girl going for the same egg. Drew looked at her, and put the egg back down so she could get it. He just moved on to another spot. My heart just swelled with love and pride for that boy.
He had a great find! He was so happy and had so much fun!
We ran over to the Fellowship Hall to see sister hunt. They have a large group in their age, so there weren't a ton of eggs to go around. Addie Kate didn't get many, but some children't didn't get any. When I was walking in, Addie Kate was giving one of her eggs (when she only had three anyway) to another girl that had none. Again, my heart swelled. Man, am I proud of these children.
Well, you can see it took many tries, but I do love this picture of the two of mine.
Drew got a prize for finding the most eggs in his group.
We came home to dye eggs.
Addie Kate wore an art smock. But little man needed to get naked.
We really need to dye several dozen. They always go through them so quickly.
Oh how I love them!
The Easter bunny came and brought too much, despite trying to cut back.
We celebrated the miracle and beauty of Easter with the sunrise service at St. Peter's. Mom made both of their Easter outfits, as usual. I told her that this year would probably be the last one, at least for Drew. I seriously doubt I can continue to get away with these sweet little shorts sets. I have loved having my children in dresses and outfits that my mom has made. Not only is she so very talented, but what great heirlooms these will be. I am pretty picky with what my children wear to church. I like it as fancy as can be. French hand sewing is becoming a lost art and very hard to find in stores. I love that I've been able to put Addie Kate in them for so long!
No clue why my two wouldn't get near each other. Sigh.
I see this picture and I just love it. But I also hear the line from Varsity Blues in my head, "These.... are my people."
It was windy and chilly and a little dreary, but I was glad we got at least one picture out in front of St. Peter's and the beautiful cross.
When we got home, the kids tore into their Easter baskets.
And clearly started shedding their Easter attire.
Addie Kate has talked nonstop about using oil pastels in art this year. She loves them. The Easter Bunny took note and got her her own set!
I love those sweet, still baby-looking hands. I could just stare at them!
Easter afternoon, we had dinner with Tommy's side of the family, and had another egg hunt. Drew found the golden egg and $5 was inside! He has no idea what money is, but he was happy to find the golden egg!
I absolutely love Easter. It's just the start of such a fun season, and summer is just around the corner. Not to mention, as a Christian, there isn't anything much more special or miraculous than the Resurrection!
