July 2012 Overview

Well, I'm glad to see that nothing has improved Blogger's photo uploading capabilities in the six months I've taken off. 

I still squeezed in a little craft time and made a wreath with my girl for our new house. Little did I know it'd be Thanksgiving before we moved in!

 We tried to find a yogurt place that we liked as much as in Greenville. YogenFruz is NOT it.

 Addie Kate enjoyed sparklers for the first time on the 4th. She loved them. I tried not to hyperventilate. (And doesn't everyone do sparklers after their baths?)

 Drew proceeded to be the happiest kid ever.

 And the messiest.

 Addie Kate tried wearing ponytails. We are still not there. She has too many layers and curlies. Mommy prefers the bow anyway.

We spent the day with my precious friend Jenny and her three boys, before going to the beach. I love this picture of our babies, minus Drew. They are definitely some of the cutest kids I know! I love that AK is rubbing her ear here. I wonder when she'll stop that!

Here's Drew-man. He loved this train. And loved that he could crawl behind Jenny's couch!

Addie Kate apparently had a blast with Jenny's boys, because here she is 5 minutes after leaving their house. 

 Then we headed to our Edisto. We do love this place. I have better pictures on our big camera, but these capture our daily fun. Snoozing at the beach is so much better. And with your behind in the air.

 David found a fish measurement guide, and tried Drew out.

 Hauling this baby pool down to the beach was intended for Drew. He wasn't a huge fan, but AK was.

 Hopefully next year Drew will love it.

Addie Kate loved the bubble baths in the jetted tub. 

 We saw them section off to start the path for a nest of loggerheads and we checked each night to see the precious babies hatch. It didn't happen though while we were there. I was SO sad!

 More beach snoozing... we'd try to get a good nap in Drew before heading down to the water. I cannot get enough of that tush and those tootsies!

 These precious baby washed ashore. We called the seaturtle rescue volunteers and he put it back in the ocean. We hope he made it!

 Addie Kate had many pre-dinner snoozes like this:

 Drew all but mastered his walking while at the beach. I don't think he liked the tile floor or the sand, and kind of just figured he had to walk!

 Addie Kate had a glow bracelet treasure hunt one night. She loved it!

 After our week at Edisto, we drove up to Myrtle to spend a day with Elliott, Laurie, Aiden, and Amelia. We had a great beach day with them and a great dinner that night.

 (Clearly this was one of Mommy's favorite dresses on AK this year!)

We stayed at the Embassy, so they all came over for breakfast the next morning before we headed back home to reality. Aiden was insistent on holding Drew! Two of the most beautiful blonde-haired boys I've ever seen!

Drew's 12 Month Pictures (and some of big sister too!)

Our friend Brantley took Drew's 12 month pictures, and I could not have been more pleased. She does a fantastic job, and I am so glad to have these precious reminders of my baby boy at this age. Below are some of my favorites. There were more, lots more.

 That toe.

 That's right buddy, get that whole fist in there.

Not. A. Fan. But it sure is cute. 

We hadn't planned on getting Addie Kate's pictures done, or obviously I would have had them in matching outfits, but I had just thrown that dress on her that day and focused on Drew. Thankfully, she loves to dress precious all the time, so it wasn't an issue. That yellow on her and big turquoise bow turned out gorgeous and so spring-y. And there's always black and white for the sibling pictures! 

 

Those eyes. They really are gorgeous. And I know she's mine. But seriously, they are the same color as that bow. If I were that lucky! 

 

There were more of Addie Kate, because she is such a mess and loves having her picture taken. But these two were my favorites. She really is a big girl now. Wow.

 

 I love this look on Addie Kate's face in the above and below picture. And I love them holding hands. Oh, my heart just swells with happiness when I see these!

And this. If a picture could show how much these two love each other, these come close. 

And a few of Drew in his birthday suit... this was my favorite bubble on Addie Kate, except hers was sleeveless. I smocked the wagon on the front, and then Mom constructed it. Thank goodness, apparently it's a tough one!

 I think I'll have one more summer in Sun Sans for Drew, and that'll be it. Thankfully Addie Kate still wears them. Is it wrong to be so obsessed with my children's shoes? I guess if my shoe collection were on here, it'd be a little more understandable. But seriously, that shoe is the cutest thing on my little Drewsie. I have serious disdain for certain boy shoes. As in, would keep my child barefoot instead.

I adore it. Absolutely adore it.
