Frankie's Fun Park

I don't know how all these pictures got lost in the blog update shuffle, but they did. In the middle of the heat of the summer, when it was just too hot to play outside, and just the right temperature for milkshakes, we took Addie Kate (and Drew!) to Frankie's Fun Park to play some indoor arcade games. We knew she'd love it. She likes the games at Chuck E. Cheese, but is terrified of the characters. So much so, that she actually asks to not go there! She really enjoyed this trip though, and it was cute to watch her. I didn't realize they had a little kid section either. I honestly cannot believe Tommy and I took her there, we were just trying to have fun, no matter how miserable the two of us may be! 

 Love that sweet face. Just want to bring time to a screeching halt!

 This was her first "bowling" experience. She wasn't that big of a fan. Mommy isn't either!

 I finally just told Tommy to help her throw it between her legs, that seemed to work better!

 So she tried to help me do the same -ha!

 We love ski-ball! She still needs a decent amount of help with it though.

 We didn't even put any money in this game - she just stomped on it and it lit up and she was happy!

 Brother was there. He enjoyed it too.

 I gave Addie Kate some of her tickets to hold and she was adorable trying to put them in her pocket. I didn't get a picture of it, and I hate it, because it was just so precious. But here she is showing off a ticket , which is just as cute!

After turning in her probably $25 worth of tickets, she got a purple plastic slinky, that I'm sure cost about five cents. Gotta love it. But then we went to Johnny Rockets, which is now housed in Frankie's. I love their milkshakes, so this was my favorite part!

 Addie Kate was entertained and precious writing her name on her hat. She does so well. Even holds her crayon properly!

 At this point, (July 2011, 3.5 yrs.) she had really only mastered "Addie" and a few other letters.

We really did have fun. Tommy and I didn't even leave with a headache like we do from Chuck E. Cheese! It was a great, cool, summer afternoon treat!

Another Lexington Visit...

We came to Lexington to go to the fair, have a picture session for Drew's six months and Addie Kate's four year, and some updated family pictures. My dad sent me some cute pictures that he'd taken that weekend...

My babies and me in their Halloween attire. (Note here that the dress Addie Kate is wearing is the first bishop I ever made her, start to finish, and we have gotten three years out of it!)

I love how many pictures it takes to get them both looking at the camera. And then both smiling is nearly impossible. (See below - Drew got all excited and started flapping his arms, and Addie Kate was playing with his ears... sigh.)

Right before we came to Lexington was Aunt Sue's birthday, so we had to have her another birthday party while we were there, as per requested by Addie. My girl loves a party. Mom also had a sympathy card sitting out to be mailed, but it wasn't in the envelope yet. There was a pen nearby. My daughter picked it up and drew Aunt Sue a princess right on the front. Bless her. She was so proud of herself. Her little kind, giving heart just never stops. And I think Mom sent the sympathy card anyway!

Labor Day at the Grandparents

For my birthday, Tommy took me to Atlanta for a weekend of "fun,"  which was a surprise. The fun ended up being a day at White Water Atlanta waterpark. This is something we both love, even now as adults. Of course, we rarely go to them. We had a blast. Felt like little kids! And were clearly the oldest people there without kids - ha! Our feet were killing us that night though, because we walked all over that place, on concrete, all day long, barefoot. 

While we were there, my parents kept the babes. I'm sure they were exhausted when we picked them up, but I know they enjoyed it!

I love to look back at these pictures of Drew with all this crazy hair! I loved every bit of it!

I think he still looks a little newborn-ish here. So much different from now at seven months!

It was the first Clemson game weekend, so my kids donned their orange.

Both of my babies always slept well in Googa's arms, same position.

Addie Kate and Googa built this tower. Which had to stay in tact for Tommy and me to see. That was fun, I'm sure, for my parents to travel with.

They went to visit my grandmother. She adores them both. And Addie Kate loves her and house!

Mema fixed her an apple. Her fruit of choice.

Then my Aunt Carol (who AK calls "Coco"), Uncle Everett, and their granddaughter Emily came to visit. Addie Kate loves Emily. They are the only girl, 2nd generation, cousins. Out of nine, with another on the way, also a boy. These girls can hold their own, no doubt!

Drew and his sink bath. My mom can give a good sink bath. I cannot.

And one of Addie Kate's favorite pastimes at my parents' house - Noggin, (now Nick Jr. or something?). We don't have this channel, and we dictate how much television she watches pretty strictly. Here, she pretty much gets free reign, and she loves it.

Mommy's Birthday, 2011

My dad recently sent me a ton of pictures he'd taken on various occasions. These were in there from my birthday.

I thought my babies looked so sweet. You can't really tell with Drew, but Addie Kate had on a beautiful summer sun dress that I hope we get one more season's wear out of!

I love to watch Tommy play Barbies with Addie Kate. Especially here. While laying on the couch. Utter enthusiasm.

I just snuggled baby boy. Couldn't be happier to do that!

Birthdays sure are different when you have kids. I kept forgetting that my birthday was even coming up! Much less think of a way to celebrate it!
