Thanks Uncle Paul!

Addie's Uncle Paul bought her this sweet Clemson t-shirt a few months back. Addie is finally big enough, and it's finally warm enough, for her to wear it. We love it Uncle Paul!

Addie Kate is Half a Year Old!

Our little angel girl turned 6 months old yesterday. Here's a few pictures of her eating carrots, and then a few of her getting ready for bed! We can't believe we have had her here for half a year. I can remember going to the hospital to have her like it was just yesterday. Sweet Addie, you have changed our lives so much already and we can't believe how fortunate and blessed we are to have you here. You are truly our sweet little angel girl! Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back!

I should add here that apparently carrots are a great food for "regulating" a digestive system! Addie pooped 5 times on this day. For most parents of infants, that may seem like nothing, but there was a time when we didn't know if Addie knew how to poop at all!

Happy 2nd Birthday Aiden!!!

We traveled to Charleston again this past weekend to celebrate our amazing Godson's 2nd birthday. I cannot believe my sweet Aiden is two years old! He was so sweet and enjoyable. He was a blast to watch at his super fun birthday party, and he really enjoyed playing with Addie the rest of the weekend. He loved giving her kisses. He would keep saying over and over again, "Addie kisses, Addie kisses!" So sweet! What a special little boy! Addie did great again on the trip. We are so thankful that she enjoys traveling as much as her mommy and daddy do! Here are some pics of our fun weekend!

Addie kisses? Addie kisses? (he said that over, and over, and over again!) So sweet! You have to watch that Addie though - Aiden came to her to give her a kiss, and she stuck her tongue out! Ahhh!

The picture below was taken on Sunday morning before brunch. Aiden was so sweet wanting to hold Addie, and she was quite content letting him. Then, all of a sudden, Aiden decided he was done, so he just let go and started to back away! I've never seen so many adults move so fast in all my life! See how much they look alike?

Sleepy Addie

While Tommy and I were packing to go to Charleston this weekend, Addie was in our room playing in her gym. She was just as happy as can be, then Tommy came and whispered to me to come look. This is the sweet girl we saw...

This was after we were packing in her room and she was playing in her crib. Tommy looked over at her and she was COVERED in brown goo - she had spit up every bit of prunes and oatmeal that she had for breakfast. It was in her hair, down her arms, all over her face, and had soaked through the sheet and mattress pad. Straight to the bath she went, and the laundry I began! Nice! This ONLY happens when we have somewhere to be!

Nana visits...

While Tommy was in Boston last week, my mom came to visit. (and help me!!!) Friday morning Addie was flipping out, so Mom just took her and started reading this new book to her. Addie completely calmed down until Mom finished the book, then she started crying until Mom read it again! So sweet! (By the way, this book is titled Rise and Shine and, for all of you church people I grew up with, it is written with the words of the song "Rise and Shine and Give God Your Glory" or "Arky, Arky," which is why Addie Kate HAD to have it!) (Sorry to post this picture of you in your robe Mom, but it was too cute!)

When Daddy's Away...

Addie will play! I made a sign for Addie to hold up for her daddy who is in Boston this week. Well, you can just see for yourself!

This was taken first thing this morning - see the sleepy eyes? And, we had just suctioned her stuffy little nose - hence the redness! My mom was trying desperately to get her to hold the sign up right, who were we kidding? We miss you Daddy! Please come home soon, safe, and sound!

Let me leave you with Addie's newest obsession, much to my dismay...

Yes, that is her thumb, in her mouth! I will absolutely not have it! It's just so germy and such a bad habit - why go there? Here is my solution... and everyone around her has been instructed to do the same.

The Story of Our Weekly Pictures

Ahhh, our sweet little girl is growing up! I went to take her weekly pictures this week and she would NOT cooperate! Gone are the days when I have to prop her in the corner, watch carefully, and take pictures quickly for fear she would topple over. I could very easily get sad with her many changes from my newborn baby to an almost six month old, but my friend Amber (who has a baby exactly 3 months younger than Addie) put it to me like this - We celebrate life. We are happy with her growth and milestones and newfound joys. We are so blessed to have this angel baby in our life and are going to enjoy watching each and every growth, day, and year. We are fortunate to have a baby who is so happy and healthy, and her growth will be a joy and a delight! I have to remind myself of this and our family's many blessings anytime I catch myself getting sappy!
