Daily May 2013

May.... one of the busiest and one of the most fun months. I love it. We are on constant countdown for summer break when may rolls around. This May was one of particular sweetness. Addie Kate had a lot of milestones. And mommy had a lot of emotional meltdowns!

She had Muffins for Moms at preschool. Precious, Godly, Sweetness.

Oh how I will miss these sweet years.
They did some great artwork in her three years of preschool - at both Brookwood and Saxe Gotha. I hope Drew will do the same. I have two walls of framed artwork of theirs in our house. We have plates in the kitchen on seasonal rotation that they have made. And their bathroom has their artwork. I'd rather look at their artwork than any other!
Her teachers. Mrs. Beth was a true delight. One of the most loving, Godly women I have ever met in my life. She taught my girl to love the Lord better than anyone. And I am most thankful.
I love this. I love little interviews. But this one is almost not funny because Addie Kate knows it all and it's almost all true - ha! It says I am 33 years old, I have green/brown eyes (they are green/blue), and I have brown hair. My favorite color is pink, my favorite food is salad, and I am prettiest when I put on makeup. (Ha!! I need to do that more I see!) Sweet little angel. It's something I'll treasure always.

Strawberries were late this year. We were able to go, finally, as a family, and it just happened to be on a cold day! I had to pull too-little winter clothes out for my  kids!

Love this above picture of my baby boy.

Naptime on that day.... I love it.
And AK and I enjoyed some coloring instead of napping.

Aunt Sue graduated with her Masters degree. We celebrated with her!
Dad would get Drew for me some afternoons. And on this particular one, he had a one-hour temper tantrum. Dad sent me this picture. Nice.
Addie Kate had dance pictures. I love the pigtails!

And I love all those little tutu bottoms!

In preparation for 5K Spanish Immersion, there was a playdate at school with who would be her new friends. She did really well in a sea of the unknown. Bless her. I couldn't believe this day was here.

Fortunately, she's still a little girl and is still innocent.
And will still play dress-up with Mommy.

I am obsessed with my children's feet and hands. Which is funny since I cannot STAND an adult's feet. Gross! But baby feet are adorable. All chunky and sweet.

Addie Kate and I had a girl's day picking out some flowers and shopping.

At Wingard's, we happened upon a picnic! A man grilled AK a special hot dog and we had homemade cake and boiled peanuts. It was wonderful!

And then AK kept me company in the never-ending-constantly-messy guest bedroom, where I was once again trying to straighten it out.
Mother's Day with one of my two children. Naturally the other one wouldn't take a picture.

We had my family over for a big dinner, then I was able to cuddle up with my two sweets before the day was over. Drew let me take this picture, finally. What a blessing to be a mother. And my thankfulness for it never runs out.

Drew and I had regular Target dates all year while Addie Kate was in dance. This was not good for my wallet, or marriage (ha!), but he and I sure had fun!

How I found him sleeping one night - not this is at the head of the crib.
And on our way to Mrs. Valeri's one morning. Love the bed head.

My girl looking sweet at preschool one morning. I know my days are numbered in these clothes.

Luke asked us to come to his spring program, so of course we did! It was a beautiful night, so I tried to snap a few pics of my two.
Addie Kate has taken posing to an all new level this year.

Something that I try to not ever do...
A selfie. But with my girl, it's ok!

At her dance dress rehearsal - she is on the far right.

We had her end-of-year gymnastics performance (whatever you call it) and her dance recital on the same day. Bless her, she was exhausted. I took Drew to Aunt Ellen for the day. I knew he couldn't handle both of those.

I am still not impressed with her gymnastics place. We will hopefully find somewhere acceptable for next year.
I made Addie Kate go upstairs and rest for a brief minute before dance. She passed out, naturally.

Her dance recital was adorable. I'm excited for her to learn new things, and I can't wait to see what she will be able to do one day, but I know to love these sweet tutus and curly, high pigtails, and not-together little shuffles that last an entire recital, too. Love every season of life.
 Again with the posing.
 And again.

We loved Mrs. Stephanie her ballet teacher!
My girl with her treats - flowers and her three-year trophy.

A playdate - her favorite thing ever. These sweet friends will be at PHES with her next year.
Addie Kate's preschool class visiting an elementary school for a tour. Bless it. Sweetest thing ever.
Riley and Addie Kate joined Addison at her dance studio for a day. Wow, that was an eye opener for mama!

Uncle Paul helping get Drew in the car one afternoon. You see he's a pure delight at times.

And my budding artist....
Sister left her markers out and Drew enjoyed this medium - his arms.

Good golly how I love this boy.
And although covered in artwork, I was able to squeeze both children in these outfits again for Memorial Day!

Drew trying out his tricycle that he got for his birthday. I assure you he did not need that helmet. Why is learning to ride a tricycle so hard?
Thoroughly enjoying our first popsicles of the season in the finally warm weather.

Addie Kate graduated from preschool. Be still my soul. This will be a post in itself.

To celebrate graduation, her class went on a field trip the next day to the zoo, and I went too. It was a sweet day with friends.

I totally forgot the memo on AK needing to wear the shirt she made. Geez.

Drew had his two year visit that I had to do solo.
We were both pretty sad about that.
Drew didn't cry over getting his finger pricked - he cried over needing a bandaid. Geez! He hates them!

And he's out. He all but ran out the door of that place. He's not a real fan of the doctor's office.

Drew woke up crying for me one night... and this was what I walked into. All manner of scary thoughts went through my head and I thought to myself that this would have to be what a gunshot wound to the face looks like.

Bless my childrens' noses. The nosebleeds are ridiculous. And I'm good with laundry, but blood I cannot get out.

I don't think any mama gets tired of seeing their children sleep. Sometimes it's so sweet. Other times it's hilarious.
 Drew sleeping ON his pillow.
And Addie Kate falling asleep holding her head up. Ha!

And one last picture of sweetness. Life is so sweet.
